Today’s altar setup felt all about height.
And Dragons.
Tower Power.
Soar.
Uncharacteristically, (actually, as never before) I took a picture of the altar at the start of the session. Usually this is done at the end, after cards or other alterations are made. After the session is complete and sealed. My 'soar' card wall-hanging was pulled into the field, with a feather peeking in at the top right.
A trio of cards felt in alignment with today’s Reiki unfolding. So early in the session, from Sandra Anne Taylor’s “Energy Oracle Cards” deck, we received: #9 BROKEN HEART, Grief and Loss, reversed; #31 DOOR TO VALUE, New Beginnings in Finance or Career, upright; & #39 FIFTH CHAKRA, ARCHANGEL GABRIEL, Self-Expression, and Speaking Your Truth, reversed (images and full card descriptions included below).
An inverted Broken Heart came up for the group just a few sessions ago, so if you were present for that you may wish to reflect deeper onto where you may still be holding this ready-to-pass grief. If not (or either way really) this is truly ready to pass now. Reflecting on this card the message was “letting things go; let things be taken by the wind”. Perhaps the final key is noticing the lesson and/or giving gratitude for the experiences that preceded this grief.
Looking ahead at the Door to Value I got the word “pruning”. There was a visualization of an intertangling of plants and roots and beliefs, all different layers and confusing to prune… but are any of these necessary? The bigger question: What are these pretty weeds you're clinging onto when you know they’re no good for you deep down?
Western Waters and Wood.
Dropping into the body there was a strong nudge toward attending to the core bodily needs. Most bluntly, of eating and peeing, of hydration with minerals and salts. Lemon Eucalyptus essential oil was added to a diffuser at setup and the scent came in very strong at these messages. Potent Clarity.
At the Root chakra an image of energy splitting and branching down both legs, accompanied by the need to shuffle the feet and really settle into the sensations of connecting with the Earth. Moving up the centra column, the mid-spine had defined stiffness, and that area circled back into the attention for more Reiki multiple times. Throughout a wider scan was completed along with some holding energy at the Throat in honor of Archangel Gabriel’s Fifth Chakra card, but no imbalance arose. With time the feeling was that the call for energy at the Throat is for the future, building up confidence and strength for something to come, so I held here intending the energy to coalesce forward in time. It seemed to be feeding a sense of coming limbo or indecision.
Finishing up, final notes for continuing guidance -
Confidence in order: balancing, multi-tasking, making adjustments.
Calmly and coolly, slowly moving forward with innate trust.

#9 BROKEN HEART
Grief and Loss
Reversed
The Broken Heart reversed marks a time of renewal and hope. The pain and trauma are behind you now, and you can trust that greater joy is on the way. Whatever has happened to hurt you in the past, you’re now free to move on.
The Universe has much better things in store for you, so finish letting go of any residual grief and open your life to your new self-loving intention. Joyous connections will follow.
Affirmation: I release the pain of the past and live with compassion for myself. Love heals and renews me now.
#31 DOOR TO VALUE
New Beginnings in Finance or Career
Upright
This card shows a door with a gold coin on it, opening to a place that’s filled with light and bright potential. Money, coins, and jewels fly toward you through the open door, revealing a golden city beyond.
All of this points to the potential for exciting new beginnings or expansions where work or money are concerned. Perhaps a new opportunity is totally unexpected, or perhaps it’s something you’ve been working toward for quite a while. Either way, keep your eyes open for this new beginning to appear in your life. Know that anything you value may be open to you now. Remain conscious and creative, and get ready to step through the door..
Affirmation: My life is opening to endless possibilities of prosperity. The river of abundance flows freely through my door, bringing me unlimited wealth.
#39 FIFTH CHAKRA,
ARCHANGEL GABRIEL
Self-Expression, and Speaking Your Truth
Reversed
This card reversed often indicates significant blocks in the throat center. Something in your history may have caused you to shut down, but it’s important now to break through that unhealthy pattern. Or you may currently be in a situation where the sharing of your ideas, opinions, or feelings is being thwarted.
In addition to the fear of self-expression, this card reversed could indicate physical throat problems – as all of the chakra cards reversed may signal difficulties in that area of the body. The physical trouble may be connected to the blocked energy in that chakra, so it’s all the more important to work on clearing the energy in the center involved.
To clear the throat chakra, call upon Gabriel and meditate on his power blasting through any blocks. See your throat center spinning in a beautiful blue light. Muster up the courage to speak your truth to yourself and to those around you. It’s time to let go of any old fear of confrontation – and stand up for yourself from now on.
Affirmation: My throat chakra is open to its perfect, healthy state, spinning with the beautiful energy of freedom and self-empowerment. I am free to express myself in every way.
