Grounding and Devotion

This post is for my 04/18/25 Group Distance Reiki Session. If you are reading this at any time please know the energy and message, as it resonates, is perfect for you.
As I was setting up for our session I found a track in Insight Timer called “Calm About Everything” (by Charlene Lans) which felt like the perfect sentiment for the energies as I prepared our altar, cacao with cinnamon, and set the sacred space to begin our group session today.

Feeling some dispersed and scattered – yet still connected and firing – energies I wanted to draw us into grounding and then start with a wide focus, calling all parts back and doing a cleansing aura sweep and chakra check-in for as long as needed.

A lot of jumbled messages and impressions came through, but the guidance was to stay with the wider energy and whittle it down… that too much of the little notes could be potent for one but overwhelming for the group.
I found three core guidances throughout the session:
Grounding. We hear it all the time. You may or may not have your own practice. Today I went into grounding for the group and just kept coming back. The message is that you cannot do too much grounding right now. Keep coming back to it. Make it physical. Whether we’re employing cognitive dissonance, escaping, or just generally overstimulated, we have been spending much of our time (at least partially) out of our bodies.
I kept seeing an orchard of trees with their canopies on fire. Something is consistently sucking our energies up and away, and employing this distraction to disempower us. It is easier to be partially out of the body, yet, consistently coming back is going to greatly amplify all you can do. The fire wasn't scary or spreading, and is transformative in itself, yet it left the impression to keep a distance. The trunks of the trees were straight and unscathed and guided me downward into the connections and life that still exists within the Earth. We can reassert our connection here any time, and right now, do it all the time!
The second guidance was still part of this grounding message, as it kept coming back in new assertions and assurances: play in the dirt. A great, and fun, easy way to hook you into grounding -instantly and subconsciously- comes when you physically touch the Earth and Earth elements. Whether gardening, applying a mud mask, or walking/dancing/jumping/running barefoot, this is a switch-flip to add in tiny doses where you can. Walking by a plant? Reach out and touch it’s leaf/branch/petal. Smile or say ‘hi’ or ‘thank you’. Put a millisecond of conscious effort in “feeling it” and move forward into whatever you were doing. Visualize your day and notice when you’re near “Earth” and use your imagination to find ways to add a connection.
The final guidance came around Devotion: it is ready and waiting for you. This came though with religious connotations - but only for interpretation It is about your devotion to Source in whatever way you resonate. I saw prayer hands in the foreground and an enormous white chapel bathed in light. An ambiguous (to bright!) altar magnifying Love & Light and inviting… yet… we keep seeing it and logging the reminder, “oh yeah, I should pray more.” “I’d really like to get back to praying.” “I’ll pray tonight.” “I’ll start that again.” And yet, we have not stepped into this light. Our mind is holding us away with shoulds and obligations, and has really disconnected us from seeing that the Light is here for us! Shining down right now and asking us to be with it. Maybe we need to change our devotional practices. If prayer (or fill in the blank ____) used to work for you but now it feels like a chore, then what feels loving and fulfilling? Just like a finger-brush on the plant this can be a millisecond of attention. Don’t forget that the Light is ready and available now matter what. It is not judging or asking for anything. It is simply your choice to notice it and take a step into it.
Reiki was shared throughout the practice, with both opening and closing chakra and aura sweeps. Extra time was spent with all the higher Chakras and the Heart, while the lower chakras felt largely balanced and attuned from the grounding exercises and from the fire-lights moving within the tree canopy. Also, extra Reiki was held at the 3rd Eye and the right deep mid-body (feeling like the right kidney, liver, or surrounding tissue and organs).
Be kind to yourself and others, and enjoy this energy as it integrates and empowers you over the coming days and weeks.
