This post is for my 06/14/24 Group Distance Reiki Session. If you are reading this at any time please know the energy and message, as it resonates, is perfect for you.
Immersion
Heat immersion; cold immersion; emotional immersion. Made me think of exposure therapy: when you’re safe go into that "other" for the experience of diversity.
In setup I was drawn toward a card draw from Diana Cooper’s “Angels of Light” card deck and we received HOPE. What happens when you immerse yourself in a feeling of hope? You may need to rely on your imagination to get there. What comes up?
For some of us this can feel very threatening or invite the protective expectation of disappointment.
Release judgement and allow yourself some grace in noticing what the notion of hope does to your body and your energy.
Hope as a survival mechanism: we cling to it then get angry at it. Hope as an undying element of the human spirit. Hope asks us to be vulnerable, to have wishes and dreams.
Inviting Reiki into the energy of Hope I felt as if kindling a tiny flame, visualized as icy blue amid emptiness and total darkness.
First it was just a single flame; a candle tip. Feeding the fire it transformed into a wall.
No connection to edges or a border, just about 10 feet wide, easy to detour around. Some may not be ready to walk through it yet, knowing it is there is enough.
Unlike some states or emotions we can invite that provide a sense of being in this moment, Hope has a feeling of future-casting.
When you aspire toward something does it feel better to keep your wishes close to the heart, clinging to their energy and nature, or to release them to the Universe, as a catalyst to invite your pleas? With your worries and your fears does it feel better to voice (speak/write/think) them and get them out of your system and field, or to hold them tight so as not to acknowledge and potentially create/manifest/accept by your admission?
One way or the other does the fear of the power of your thoughts affect your comfort and your choices when expressing yourself?
All these conflicting impressions around hope brought layers of bodily distress and anxiety. Times of heart-racing. Times of detachment for safety. The Hope Wall stood by, offering its clarity. Again, exposure was enough.
Toward the end of the session I drew another card, both for support in closing the session and for guidance in the coming days and weeks. This time, from Sandra Anne Taylor’s “Energy Oracle Cards” deck, we received #40 SIXTH CHAKRA, ARCHANGEL METATRON, inverted (full description and image below).
With the card in mind I re-envisioned the Hope flame, then wall, and imagined walking through it, standing within it. I felt sudden weakness on the left side, almost wilting or collapsing inward. I was brought back to the opening word: Immersion. Inviting in Archangel Metatron for understanding and support I was called to include a few objects as well: I placed our Hamsa Hand box (which houses the names of Group Reiki participants) to rest between-and-touching the Heart and Throat Chakras, and I placed an altar crystal at the Third Eye Chakra. I once again focused on hope, and the Third Eye, and the presence of Archangel Metatron. With time I found myself repeating:
“Archangel Metatron, teach us the value and importance of hope. Grant us light and love and miracles.”
A lightness and feeling of disembodiment came; now being part of the wall… then the wall became everything. Energetic sparkling of white-blue light, and a feeling of merging with the Third Eye and Crown together. This became infused in the aura as we came back to our physical selves.
Donations deeply appreciated, if you’re able.
(with continuing thanks to all who contribute!!)

Clarity of Thought, Personal Vision
Reversed
This card reversed admonishes you to get clear. You may have been lost in confusion and had unclear or distorted thinking. But even if this state of mental chaos has been going on for quite some time, your lack of personal direction can be turned around. Take off the blinders and widen your perspective. Visualize the life you want to live and the person you want to be, and make that you’re intention.
It’s time to break out of the old, toxic patterns – whether they be habits of worry, doubt, or self-criticism. It’s also time to develop a clearer, healthier vision of how you perceive yourself and what you want your daily life to look like. Know that you are in charge of making it so.
Meditate on Metatron’s strong presence in your brow center and see a beautiful indigo light spinning there. Affirm that you are creating a new clarity and sense of direction. You have all the power you need to create a strong personal vision that will guide you on your path. Make that a priority now.
Affirmation: My sixth chakra is open to its perfect, healthy state. My personal vision guides me, and my thoughts are peaceful and clear.
